Why Is a Stable Weight Essential After a BBL?

4 Minute Read:

One of the biggest misconceptions about plastic surgery is that it is simply a permanent miracle fix. So many people think that you can have your procedure and that’s it, no more worries, no more fuss. And while plastic surgery offers an amazing opportunity, since you are able to sculpt your body into the aesthetic you desire, you can’t just sit back and laze around on the couch afterward.

Doing this will add weight to your body and can erase the changes made by your cosmetic procedure.

This is especially true for Brazilian Butt Lift surgery. While this procedure is transformative to a woman’s body, and the results are stunning, a lackluster lifestyle afterward will create several aesthetic issues for you.

Because of this, it is necessary to maintain a stable and balanced weight with as little fluctuation up or down on the scale as possible.

What Is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Brazilian Butt Lift surgery (also known as butt augmentation with fat transfer or fat grafting) is a cosmetic surgery in which fat is taken from one portion of the body (usually the abdomen, hips, or thighs) through liposuction and then transferred to the buttocks to create a fuller and more defined backside. This added volume will help clothing fit better and boost your confidence in the way you look. While this procedure can be performed as a stand-alone surgery, many women choose to combine it with other cosmetic procedures, known as Mommy Makeover surgery.

Many people are unhappy with their flat behind, so taking action and having a Brazilian Butt Lift is something to applaud. Many celebrities have undergone this surgery, which goes to show how it can be just the thing you need to give you the aesthetic appearance you’ve been wanting. However, there are some things to keep in mind, before and after your procedure.

How to Get the Most Out of Your BBL

The reason people have plastic surgery is to improve their aesthetic looks. Whether it be tightening the skin and underlying muscles, smoothening skin, getting rid of unwanted fat (or, in the case of Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, moving that unwanted fat to a more desired location), cosmetic procedures help to improve on the way you look and feel. So, why would you do something to disrupt or destroy those improvements? Unfortunately, many people make this mistake.

Get to a Healthy Weight Before Surgery

Before your Brazilian Butt Lift, you will want to make sure that you are as healthy as possible. This means quitting smoking, eating right, staying on a consistent exercise schedule, and bringing yourself to a stable weight that you are happy with. While the volume of your backside will be increased with this procedure, it is fat redistribution, which means that you won’t be losing any weight. Instead, your fat is just moving from one place to another. This will create a sleeker and more toned look in the area where the fat was extracted from, and it will add to the volume and size of your buttocks.

Being healthy before your surgery will help your Brazilian Butt Lift results be exactly what you are looking for and will help minimize your recovery time.

Maintain a Stable Weight After Surgery

After your procedure, it is just as important (if not more important) to maintain a stable weight through diet, exercise, and lifestyle.

You have to think about it this way: After your Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, your backside will have a greater number of fat cells (from the transferred fat), so any change, up or down, will show more prominently in the area.

A healthy lifestyle is helpful to maintain the results of any cosmetic procedure, especially a surgical one like a BBL. The last thing you want to do is finally achieve your aesthetic goals with your buttocks and then lose those results from either gaining or losing weight afterward.

In short, you want to get yourself to or right around your ideal weight before your BBL surgery and then work to maintain that same weight after your procedure. By doing this, you will be able to show off your results for years to come.
