Tummy tuck surgery (abdominoplasty) improves the appearance of the midsection by eliminating excess skin and tightening the abdominal muscles. Dr. Koch combines this procedure with liposuction (lipoabdominoplasty) to eliminate stubborn fat deposits and improve contouring. Desired by men and women of all ages, this procedure is effective in producing more slender and toned abdominal contours.
The skin loses elasticity over time, which causes it to become saggy. Even if you’ve managed to lose weight, chances are you still have loose, hanging skin. A tummy tuck removes excess skin and drapes the remaining skin to improve the contours of the stomach area.
Excess fat can accumulate in the most displeasing areas. Liposuction can eliminate these unwanted fat deposits to create leaner and more sculpted contours. Say goodbye to those “love handles” and other areas of stubborn fat.
After pregnancy, unsightly stretch marks often remain. A tummy tuck permanently eliminates stretch marks along with the skin removed from the lower abdomen, leaving you with smooth skin.
Pregnancy and weight gain can leave the abdominal muscles permanently stretched. During a tummy tuck, the muscles are tightened to reveal a flatter, more toned midsection.
A flat, defined stomach is seen as the pinnacle of attractiveness. With a tummy tuck, your physique will be noticeably more appealing to others.
An unattractive abdominal area can be embarrassing and negatively affect your self-confidence. The results of a tummy tuck can improve the way you view yourself and, therefore, how you project yourself to others.
What Is Lipoabdominoplasty?
Dr. Koch uses an approach that is different from the classic abdominoplasty, and it is performed on an outpatient basis with general anesthesia. Unlike traditional abdominoplasty, his lipoabdominoplasty technique involves using liposuction to enhance the contouring results.
A horizontal incision is made just above the pubic region that may extend from one hip to the other. The length of the incision depends on the amount of skin to be removed. If necessary, a second incision may be used to remove loose skin from around the navel. Extensive liposuction is performed through the incision, removing a significant amount of excess fat. The underlying muscles are pulled tight and stitched together with sutures before the remaining skin is pulled downward. Excess skin is trimmed, and the stretch marks on this removed skin will be gone permanently.
Before & After
Although it typically takes about 3 to 4 weeks to recover from a tummy tuck, many patients feel good enough to return to work after about 10 to 14 days with limitations.
