How to Keep Your Beautiful Eyes Looking Young

3 Minute Read:

“The eyes are the window to the soul.”

We’ve all heard this saying, and while it may sound cliché, there is some truth to it. That’s because our eyes can be one of the most important features on our face. When we talk with someone, we tend to look directly into their eyes, and this means that other people do the same to us.

While many people consider their eyes to be their best (and favorite) feature, when the signs of aging begin to appear around the eyes, it can be frustrating and devastating, to say the least.

However, there’s good news. Dr. Koch offers several different procedures and treatments to help revitalize your eyes to keep them looking beautiful and young!

Why Do I Need Eye Rejuvenation?

As we age, our bodies begin to slow down, which can cause wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, and other imperfections to appear. These issues can be clearly evident around the eyes.

Droopy eyelids, bags under the eyes, and furrowed brows can all cause the eyes to look smaller and less attractive. However, these aesthetic issues can all be corrected with an eye rejuvenation procedure.

Below, you will find information about these different procedures and treatments to help you reclaim your youthful appearance as well as your confidence.

Eyelid Surgery

Also known as a blepharoplasty, an eyelid surgery helps to correct various issues that develop in and around the eyelids. Some of these issues include:

  • Sagging upper eyelids (that can impair vision)
  • Droopy lower eyelids
  • Wrinkles and fine lines in the area around the eyes
  • Puffiness in the area around the eyes
  • Dark circles (bags) under the eyes

These issues tend to make us look older and more worn down than we actually are, as they detract from the natural beauty of our eyes.

You can treat either your upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both for a complete eyelid revitalization.

With an upper blepharoplasty, an incision is made in the natural creases of your eyelid. From here, fat tissue can be removed, and the remaining tissue and muscles can be repositioned. Lastly, excess skin is surgically removed.

With a lower blepharoplasty, an incision is made just beneath the lower eyelashes. Tissue is removed and/or repositioned to help alleviate puffiness and bags under the eyes.

After a blepharoplasty, you can look forward to more aesthetically pleasing eyelids that complement your eyes rather than distract from them.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

One of the most well-known non-surgical treatments available is BOTOX® Cosmetic. This injectable solution consists of botulinum toxin-A, which is a neuromodulator. When you see the stunning results from this procedure, it is easy to understand why it is so popular (nearly 4.5 million botulinum toxin-A procedures performed in 2020 alone).

This solution works by reducing the appearance of wrinkles caused by constant muscle contractions. The neurotoxin temporarily blocks signals sent to the brain from the injected muscles. This stops contractions, preventing wrinkles from appearing. These types of wrinkles are particularly present in the areas around the eyes, since we constantly squint (especially when we’re out in the sun).

Brow furrows, frown lines, “11’s,” and crow’s feet can be treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic to give you smoother skin without any unsightly lines. Fillers can be used to assist with softening the “11’s” or frown lines between the eyebrows.

For this treatment, the BOTOX® Cosmetic solution is injected directly into the targeted muscles. While your results are not permanent, you can have maintenance treatments every several months to assure that you maintain your stunning results.
