How to Customize Your Facial Rejuvenation Procedure
3 Minute Read:
Wrinkles, fine lines, volume loss, and sagging skin contribute to a weathered and aged appearance.
There is a positive, however; facelift surgery and other cosmetic procedures can alleviate (if not completely eliminate) the presence of these age-related concerns and help you feel more confident in how your face looks.
Below, we’ll take a look at what a facelift and other transformative procedures can do.
What Can a Facelift Achieve?
Dr. Koch is proud to offer several different facelift options, including a traditional, mini, and mid facelift to help his patients achieve optimal results. These facelift procedures address specific concerns on the face.
A traditional facelift helps correct wrinkles, lines, and sagging skin on the lower two-thirds of the face (from the cheeks to the neck).
With this procedure, the facial tissue is repositioned, facial muscles are tightened, excess skin is surgically removed, and the remaining skin is pulled tight to give you the smooth and contoured appearance you’re looking for.
With a mini facelift, a smaller incision is made, which allows for a smaller scar. A mini facelift only addresses the lower-third of the face, including the area around the mouth, jawline, chin, and upper neck.
Similar to a traditional facelift, sagging skin will be excised, and the remaining skin will be tightened to give you a more defined appearance, especially to the jaw.
As the name implies, a mid facelift focuses on correcting concerns in the middle of the face. This is especially helpful for women and men who suffer from volume loss in the cheeks.
With this procedure, the muscles in the midface will be tightened, the cheekbones will be contoured, sagging skin will be removed, and the remaining skin will be tightened to give you a more youthful and revitalized appearance.
What Other Facial Procedures Can I Have?
While a facelift can rejuvenate your lower face, this procedure cannot address cosmetic issues in the upper face (around the eyes) or in other areas.
To treat these issues, other procedures are necessary to achieve your cosmetic wishes.
A facelift corrects some issues in the upper neck; however, if you suffer from neck bands or skin laxity, including jowls and “turkey neck,” then neck lift surgery is needed to help you achieve a more contoured silhouette.
By adding a neck lift to your facelift, you can achieve more dramatic results that remain balanced and harmonious.
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) helps address concerns in the upper and lower eyelids. Upper blepharoplasty corrects droopy upper eyelids; lower blepharoplasty corrects puffiness beneath the eyes.
Many patients add blepharoplasty to their facelift to create a more balanced appearance.
While some women and men are born with thin lips, others see volume loss in their lips as a result of their age. Dermal fillers and lip implants can create a fuller pout and help you look and feel younger than you have in years.
This procedure is often performed on women, but men can also benefit from a fuller and more shapely lip appearance.
Women and men looking to augment the size and shape of their chin, cheeks, and nose can benefit from facial implants.
Chin implants can help patients achieve a more sculpted and contoured jawline. Women looking to get rid of a round lower face can choose chin implants to give them more definition, while men can achieve a more prominent and masculine jawline.
