Procedure: Correction of Tubular Breasts

Do your breasts have a "Snoopy Nose" appearance? If so, you may be suffering from a condition known as Tubular breasts. This is also known as constricted or tuberous breasts. Generally, low self esteem and poor body image are the main concerns women have for this treatable condition.

This abnormality of shape and size can be present in varying degrees. Generally, the characteristics include:

Do your breasts have similar characteristics to the description above? Are you embarrassed to show your breasts or get intimate with a loved one? Then, surgical correction may be the right choice for you. The surgery consists of altering the breast tissue in the lower aspect to allow it to expand. Next, using a breast implant, we increase the size and expand the tissue in the lower pole of the breast. We, then, reduce of the size of the areola and bulging. Finally, the breast fold is lowered and the procedure is complete. This is all performed through an incision made around the areola.

This surgery is more involved than just a breast augmentation and can take anywhere from 2 to 2 ½ hours. Usually, it is performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Recovery is a little longer than breast augmentation, but the pain is comparable.
