Procedure: Facial Implants

Chin Augmentation Before and After Photos

Facial implants are designed to enhance structural bony deficiencies. They can restore facial symmetry and balance features to enhance proportion. They are performed for both cosmetic and reconstructive purposes.

Facial implants come in various shapes, size and materials for augmentation of the chin, cheeks, jaw and nose. Most commonly they are made of soft silicone. Chin augmentation is by far the most common facial implant procedure. Frequently this is performed with a Rhinoplasty to restore facial balance.

Facial implant procedures can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours. They are performed under local or general anesthesia as an out patient. Most people require 1-2 weeks off work.

As with any surgical procedure, there is a certain amount of risk. Some of these include: infection, bleeding, shifting and postoperative bruising and swelling.

Most people will recognize you look better but they won't know why. Within 2 weeks friends and relatives will forget what you looked like before surgery. You will love looking in the mirror.
